Naan Tacos with Tofu Filling and Hummus
Ingredients required to make Naan Tacos:
- Homemade Naans (Make smaller Naans)
- 2 Avocados sliced
- 1 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup cream cheese (optional)
- Tofu Filling(Recipe follows)
- Black Bean Hummus
Spicy and Tangy flavored filling that goes into the Tacos. The leftover filling can be used for sandwiches or Sabzi for rotis.
1/2 cup chopped Green pepper
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1 block of firm tofu, pressed and crumbled
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp paprika
1 tbsp Taco seasoning
1/2 tbsp Chipotle and Roasted Garlic Seasoning
1 tsp lime juice
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1.5 tbsp corn starch mixed in 1/4 cup water
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp olive oil
- Heat oil in a pan, add chopped green pepper and sauté until half cooked.
- Add cilantro and sauté until it’s fragrant.Add crumbled tofu and 1/2 cup of water and mix well.
- Add the corn starch mixture to the tofu and simmer until the filling is thickened.
- Now add the spices to the filling mixture and finish off with more cilantro. Simmer for two more minutes and turn off the flame.
Preparing the Tacos:
1. Spread Black Bean Hummus generously on the naan.
2. Add two spoonfuls of tofu filling holding the tacos in U-shape.
3. Top the Taco with sliced avocados, cilantro and cream cheese.
4. Sprinkle little bit of paprika on top.
5. Repeat the steps for all the tacos.
6. Serve the Naan Tacos cold or warm, anyway they taste delicious.
