Eggless Moist Whole Wheat Banana Bread | Nut-free


This Banana bread is made with whole wheat flour and is moist and delicious. It uses the basic ingredients available at home. It is believed by some food historians that banana bread was invented at the time of Great Depression by the housewives who did not wish to throw away the overripe bananas. How cool is that!! 

Wet ingredients:
2 large ripe Bananas
1/2 cup Oil
2/3 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Milk

Dry Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 Cinnamon powder 
1/4 cup Chocolate chips


Method:
  • Heat the oven at 350 F/180 C
  • Line the loaf pan with a parchment paper and keep it aside.
  • Peel and mash the banana in a large mixing bowl.

  • Add sugar and whisk until its dissolved.
  • Add oil and milk and whisk again.
 
  • Sift Whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon powder with a sieve.
  • Mix everything well using cut and fold method with a spatula. Do not over mix.

  • Add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake it in the over for 35-40 mins. Insert a toothpick or a knife into the cake to check if it’s done.
  • Let the cake cool completely on the rack before cutting it.
